To : The Principal

Dear Sir/Madam,
Wish you a very Happy and Happening New Academic Year!
Nehru Science Centre is one of the most happening, amazing and wonderful places in Mumbai for those who want to make friendship with science and love it. The exhibits here create excitement, arouse curiosity and are great source of edutainment for all and students in particular. We are visited by over 7.5 lakh people annually, comprising over 3 Lakh school/college students only. Over 1 lakh students and teachers participate in our annual educational programmes and extension activities. At the Centre we have 13 galleries dealing with various concepts in science and technology with over 500 interactive hands-on minds-on exhibits. A lush green garden houses more than 50 interactive exhibits for people to explore. The enclosed poster shows glimpses of galleries and other facilities such as Science Odyssey, 3D Science Film, Science on a Sphere etc. at the Centre.
Science Odyssey consists of a large format film projection on 18 meter dia hemispherical dome. The film that is being currently screened, National Park Adventure, takes the visitors on a fully immersive experience and journey into a world locked in cold at the height of the last great Ice Age. This facility is unique of its kind in the city that provides a fascinating immersive experience to the visitors making them to feel as if they are right at the place of action itself.
The recently introduced facility Science on a Sphere is a room sized, global display system that uses computers and video projectors to display planetary data onto a six feet diameter sphere, analogous to a giant animated globe. It is a marvelous educational tool with immense potential to deal with wide range of subjects Air – Land – Weather – Space and so on. It is used as an educational tool to help illustrate Earth System Science to people of all ages. Animated images based on real data of atmospheric storms, climate change, ocean temperature and other complex environmental processes are shown on the sphere in a way that is simultaneously intuitive and captivating.
Package tour facility of the Centre, especially created to facilitate student groups, enables schools/colleges to book and plan their visit to make most out of it.  Please avail this facility and have a guided tour to the Centre for the maximum benefit.
We will be organizing Popular Science Lectures, Workshops, Contests and several other events throughout the year for which intimation will be sent time to time. We request you to motivate your students to participate in these events and have knowledge enriching experience.
Thanking and wishing you a great year ahead!
