National Science Seminar

National Council of Science Museums (NCSM) organizes the annual ‘Student’s Science Seminar’  every year. School students studying in class VIII to X can participate in this competitive event. The objective of the Science Seminar is to inculcate a spirit of scientific enquiry and analytical thinking in the minds of young students. The Science Seminar is organized in collaboration with Education Departments and Department of Science & Technology of various states and UT on a competitive basis in each State and Union Territory of the Country. The Science Seminar is deliberated generally at School, Block, District and State level. Winners from each School participate at Block level. Winners of Block level participate at District level Competition. Two winners from each District participate in State/UT level contest and only one winner from each State/Union Territory is eligible for National level Competition.

This year the topic of the National Science Seminar(NSS) – 2017 is ‘SWACHH BHARAT: ROLE OF SCIECNE  & TECHNOLOGY PROMISES AND CHALLENGES’ and it will be held at Birla Industrial & Technological Museum, Kolkata on 9th November, 2017.

As a part of NSS – 2017, Mumbai Regional Level Science Seminar was organized at Nehru Science Centre, Mumbai on 19th August, 2017 in association with the Office of the Dy. Director of Education, Mumbai. 8 students participated in the seminar from different schools of Mumbai Region. The 2 students, namely Dukhande Vaishali Ganesh from Children’s Academy, Ashok Nagar and   Devekar Nishant from M. G. Vidyamandir Bandra(E)  won 1st and 2nd prize in the order of merits.
